Well today marked the official start of coding for GSoC. Having gotten off to a good start on Friday today was spent trying to rough out the shell ruleset. Without testing I can’t say everything works correctly, but I do have a good majority of the features “shelled out.” These are the shells I have [...]

Phew, what a day. After yesterday’s git fiasco I really kicked off hard today on coding a few days early. The majority of the work I did today was creating a tonne of shell classes. I didn’t intend on being this productive today; I had taken a little break from Minisec and was looking over [...]

Well today made for a rather eventful day. You might be wondering about the title, as it was, I had just finished a few commits worth of changes to my shell ruleset, when I accidentally “git push’ed” instead of “cg-push’ing” my changes up to the TP server. Biggest and most embarrassing mistake…ever. My small mistake [...]

Well that concludes my long weekend. In Canada yesterday was a federal holiday so I took it upon myself to enjoy a nice weekend with my family coming out to Morden, enjoying our (i’m married remember) nice big yard and our new HDTV. The tax man was good to us this year so we’re lucky [...]

Well I went at it for another few hours yesterday attempting to get a compile going. I’ve yet to bring my issues up to any of the folks on IRC, but I will still talk about what is going on here. As I said yesterday I trudged through my problems with compiling/configuring libtprl. As for [...]

Well I’m starting to wind down from the “have to touch everything I see” phase of playing with my new macbook and have actually moved on to compiling libtprl and tpserver-cpp to run natively in OSX (and not a VM.) I encountered what I would call Bug #0: Nothing works until you try it again [...]

Well I’m back on track now after being consumed by GTA IV for 2 days. No no, I’m not finished it yet, but I needed to get the focussed play out of my system.
With the release of tpserver-cpp 0.5.0 I needed to find out how to get my risk branch, version 0.4.~ up to 0.5.0. [...]

Well that seemed to be a fairly productive first day. After dealing with some car mechanical stuff at the crack of morning I plopped down and started reading documentation. Just like the previous school term things had coalesced with time; What seemed out there and difficult during applications was/is now clear. This shouldn’t be as [...]

Just finished cleaning my office, and now I’m back to preparing a dev environment. Turns out Ubuntu 8.04 doesn’t play well with VMWare. I think I will probably be able to get by for a month with 7.10 before getting my Macbook. After this install of 7.10 finishes I’ll have to get the tpserver-cpp up [...]

Funs abound as I wind down from writing my last two finals. I’ve already received two marks back and i got two “A”s. I don’t know why the University of Manitoba can’t give a percentage, as they clearly use one to calculate GPAs. That aside, I think I’ll do well this term; It’s been tough, [...]
